Is there such a thing as insurance for our ball gowns and jewelry? I don’t check my gowns, however, I’ve had my rental car broken into in the past and all my luggage stolen. It’s a nightmare I never want to repeat. Insurance covered most of that but I wonder if it would cover ball gowns.

Do you have a homeowner policy? You could probably ask your agent about an add on for them. (I know jewelry over a certain amount, I think 5k in value has to be separately declared for it to be covered which is why folks appraise engagement rings etc.)
It isn’t just for being at home. When cars get broken into, separate claims need to be made for contents (homeowners) and vehicle damage.
